Zuza Komorowska | Chartered Physiotherapist
Zuza has been involved in sports and exercise from an early age, with tennis being her greatest passion. Having experienced a number of injuries she was forced to seek sports physiotherapy herself – which of course inspired her to seek a career in the physiotherapy profession.
Zuza’s Physiotherapy Philosophy
Zuza devotes great attention to the assessment phase and approaching the patient’s condition in a holistic way in order to progress them to a full recovery. Her experiences professionally and through sport have allowed her to be an empathetic physiotherapist who listens carefully to her patients in order to thoroughly understand their pain and expectations.
To relieve pain and to restore the balance of the musculoskeletal system she appropriately tailors manual therapy techniques with strength and conditioning exercise.
Sports Physiotherapy + Racket Sports Experience
Zuza has an avid interest in understanding the mechanics of the most common musculoskeletal dysfunction in athletic people. She is a great believer in stimulating and challenging sports rehabilitation – as she feels reactiveness and quick adaptations are essential for a quick recovery. She is a vastly experienced tennis player and coach, therefore it is natural for her to use this valuable ‘’court knowledge’’ and exercises while working with her clients. She is also a pilates and Blackroll instructor – she uses both methods in prehab and rehab planning.
Paediatric and Teenage Physiotherapy
Zuza completed her degree in physiotherapy at University of Physical Education in Wroclaw, Poland. Before she came to Edinburgh she worked as a physiotherapist in The Children’s Residential Therapy Centre Zabajka, which is one of the best rehabilitation centers in Poland. She worked with children and teenagers affected by neurological and neuromuscular disorders.
